If you’ve logged into Facebook recently and noticed a new Meta Business Portfolio that you don’t remember creating, you’re not alone.

Meta has been automatically moving many Facebook Pages into Business Portfolios as part of its ongoing transition to centralized business management. The goal is to make it easier to manage Pages, Instagram accounts, ad accounts, and permissions from one place—but it's confused a lot of us.

What does this mean for your business?

In most cases, your Page isn’t hacked and you didn’t do anything wrong. Meta is simply changing how business assets are organized. However, we’ve seen this transition create duplicate portfolios, unexpected permission changes, and confusion over who has admin access. Some users have even reported losing full control of their Page until permissions were corrected.

What you should do

  • Don’t create another Business Portfolio unless you’re certain you need one.

  • Review who has access to your Page and Business Portfolio, ensuring only current staff and trusted partners have admin privileges.

  • Enable two-factor authentication for everyone with admin access.

  • Before removing or changing anything, verify that your Facebook Page, Instagram account, and ad account are still connected correctly.

  • If you’re unsure, ask for help. Making changes without understanding the new structure can accidentally remove access or disconnect business assets.

As Meta continues rolling out updates, it’s important to review your account carefully rather than assuming everything is the same as before. If you need some assistance, you know where to find us!
